This
all started after seeing one of Reiner’s creations tripping around Stradbroke
Island. Originally I laughed and thought, "Jeez, that’s a little van". It was
only when I saw Reiner having a little nap on the barge trip home that I was
sold on the idea. I enjoy woodwork so I decided to make one of my own. 18 months
down the track and considerably lighter in the pocket and here it is. The LITTLE
GYPSY CAMPERS “HOBO 3010”. On the home builders website it says that although
building a teardrop is a relatively simple concept (which I managed to
complicate at every turn), there are many unfinished projects in sheds all over
the place. I now understand why, but as painful as it was at times, it was well
worth the effort.
I'd
like to say a huge thanks to my Brother and Dad for giving up their weekends to
help me out and to Reiner for the initial inspiration and the ongoing advice. I
loved building this teardrop and encourage anyone else who wants to have a go.
I’m currently helping my brother to complete his project the
LITTLE GYPSY CAMPERS “VAGABOND 4010” so keep your eyes out for that.
Happy building.
