Keith's Teardrop Dream
Keith is not a "sit on your hands and wait for time to
pass you by" type of guy. At 73, he was looking for a project that
would not only keep him busy, but would get him out and about with the
minimum of fuss, but in a little comfort. Having built his own
caravan, he was not intimidated by the thought of building a little
teardrop. |
|
The Design
Keith had seen teardrops when they were first popular in
the 40's, but didn't realise they were making such a comeback until he
started on his own design. He worked on his plans and came up with his
unique "Marsupial Mouse". |
|
The Construction
We helped Keith out with parts and the metal work,
including building him a chassis and bumper as per his well drawn plans, but
he was one of the quickest home builders to get stuck in to the construction
and finish off his body work. And a lovely job he has done of it too. |

The Reality
The final product looks pretty darn close to the dream,
driving off into the sunset and all!
I find Keith a true inspiration and hope that he has a
ball in his Marsupial Mouse. |
